DAY 49: THE FANTASTIC CARROT KNOWS NO FEAR.

THE FANTASTIC CARROT KNOWS NO FEAR...It came to me like...like something out of a dream...There I was shoulders rigid, abs as hard as cobblestones and buttocks clenched for dear life. The Plank does weird things to the mind. One second my eyes were set in Zen-like gaze at the hardwood kitchen floor, the next... complete state of daydream. Didn't even know I was still in plank mode. All that was going through my lil A.D.D mind was "The fantastic carrot knows no fear". At first it was just a strange background noise type deal, but it firmly took hold in my mind until I burst out laughing and pretty much fell on my face. Thought y'all would enjoy my new found plank mantra.

I apologize for the lack of posts on my part this last week. Its been hard for me to get on this thing and communicate my particular P.C.P probs. I don't have a week long synapses in me like Naty, but I'll try to be more in-depth with my future posts. One thing I can say now is that taking this program one day at a time has become essential for me. Not because I'm running out of steam, but my focus is wandering. This has happened to me time and again when it comes to all kinds of projects and goals. I start thinking of  "the next step" and start losing momentum on the tasks at hand. Got to stay Presently minded.
GO Team,
Ramiro

  1. My meditation for plank. Imagining in vivid detail a bunch of people beating me with split bamboo canes on the back. Works every time.

  2. Geeez I need to find a meditation for planks. All I can think about is the pain in my lower back.
Great post by the way, short and sweet is the way to go, just a thought for the day. Your thoughts seem good!

  3. I love the mantra. Does that mean we are fantastic carrot? Maybe I'll try that with today's planks, because nothing else works for me. I'm all one plank strong, two planks doable, third and fourth collapse collapse collapse.

Of course your focus is wandering--we've been doing this forever (with all apologies to the folks on day 82, or whatever ridiculous number they're at). But this is the way life is now and we can keep going with almost no extra effort, like cars on cruise control.

Looking forward to hearing about your indulgence--mine is planned for Tuesday night... Mmm. Indulgence.

  4. Kim -- I like Team Mango, but mangoes to me are too much of a chill-out fruit. Carrots mean business. I say Fantastic Carrot! And there's four of us and it reminds me of Fantastic Four.

  5. Love the mantra. My meditation for planks is hovering over a pit of hot, fiery coals. I drop and I'm toast!

  6. Dude! That's awesome. Some badass mantra for the plank, nice.

There's a study about A.D.D. about how we actually needed it in hunter/gatherer days. The hunters needed A.D.D. so that they'd be alert the whole time. Think about it: you've got to be on whatever new thing pops up so you can hear and spot the animal around you. I don't know how to explain it well but you attention has to be on the new sights and sounds to get the animal that's hiding.

    Your the hunter, dude.

    Fantastic Carrot it is.
